I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
