AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of banned practices and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine group.
The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana in addition to numerous items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns.
